At an altitude of over 1000 metres, features of the garden include
the Gondwana, rock
and formal gardens, Conifer collections, seasonal displays, walks through the rainforest or following in the
explorer's path, plus the magnificent views from the
viewing platforms.
While exploring the Gondwana garden, don't forget to keep
an eye out for the Wollemi Pine (Wollemia nobilis).
That's not to say that the Wollemi Pine is the only
highlight - far from it, as there are now over 5000 species
of plants being grown from all cool climates around the
world, there are plenty to choose from.
Guided tours of the gardens can be organised with prior
arrangement as this can be a very informative way to enhance
your visit before being let loose to explore on your
own.
You will need to set aside at least half a day for your
visit so take a picnic or enjoy lunch / afternoon tea in the Mount
Tomah Garden Restaurant. Please note that there is a charge
for admission.
